The Tiny Beach Town In North Dakota You’ve Never Heard Of But Need To Visit

Before the summer is over, you probably want to get in a few more weekends by the lakeside. You might already have your favorite town or lake to visit, but if you haven’t checked out this tiny town then you need to visit it. It sits on the edge of a lakeside paradise right here in North Dakota.

Pick City, North Dakota is located right on the edge of Lake Sakakawea, the largest lake in the entire state.

It's a tiny town with a population of only 123 people. It is also one of North Dakota's younger cities, founded in 1946 and overlooking the Garrison Dam that created Lake Sakakawea.

Along with being a charming little town, Pick City is the gateway to a fantastic Lake Sakakawea State Park. You can see Pick City in the top right corner of the image below next to the many marinas, swimming beaches, and other lakeside fun provided there.

There is plenty of space on the sand along with hiking and walking trails along the water, cabins with great lake views, and more.

Many people love to come here for the great opportunities for fun. Head out on the boat for some tubing or fishing, or jump into the water for a swim.

Sailing, kayaking, canoeing, you name it - watercraft is very popular here.

Stay until the sun sets after a long weekend out in the summer heat and you'll understand why Pick City is the perfect lakeside town!
