Sullys Hill In North Dakota Takes You Above The World
North Dakota is known for its vast plains, river valleys, and rugged canyons of the badlands. What it isn’t so known for is towering mountains, but that’s not to say there aren’t any. If you’re looking for a place with a fantastic viewpoint that’ll make you feel like you’re on top of the world with just a short, easy hike, then this is the very spot for you:

The preserve includes 1,674 acres of preserved land right along the shores of the lake, mostly wooded area that supports an entire ecosystem of plants and animals.

This trail consists mostly of stairs directly up the hill.

Animals like bison, elk, deer, tons of migratory birds, and even prairie dogs roam this area.

The trees and meadows of the area go on for miles and miles and you can only get this kind of view at Sullys Hill.

Devils Lake is North Dakota's largest natural lake and is a great place for outdoor recreation, especially in the summer.

Sullys Hill is located 10 miles south of the city of Devils Lake at 2107 Park Drive, St Michael, ND 58370. For more information about the game preserve, click here.
There is another great park at Devils Lake that isn’t up above it, but right in the middle of it on an island. Learn more about it right here.
