10 Times Snow Transformed North Dakota Into The Most Beautiful Scenery
We can complain about the winter all we want, but we all have to admit – the snow can create some absolutely breathtaking scenery. So while we are all feeling those chilly blues and hoping for warmer weather, let’s appreciate how beautiful North Dakota looks in the winter despite the fact that it is well into the negative numbers in temperature!

With the sun reflecting off the glittering snow, it's hard not to appreciate winter scenery!

Among the bitter cold snow, you wonder what stories this house holds and all it could tell about many winters past if it could.

A beautiful shot of some of the badlands of ND in a new, thin layer of snow.

This DMVW railroad plow powers through the snow on the tracks to clear it for the rest of the trains that will use that track later that day.

Taken at Turtle River, there's something calming and serene about this picture that I love.

This little red house really stands out among all the clean white snow and trees around it - so pretty!!

Another gorgeous shot of the Badlands in winter. You can really appreciate their beauty all year round.

One of my favorite sights in winter is the trees with a perfect covering of frost on every single branch.

Taken near Minot, this photograph taken by Sam DeLong is breathtaking - with the herd of deer not far off from the railroad tracks as an engine's lights emerge from behind the trees...it's like something out of a movie!

Western ND's beautiful rolling hills at sunrise really show just how beautiful the North Dakota prairie is during winter. Wow!
As cold as they may be, we really have to appreciate North Dakota winters for this kind of beauty. If you have any winter photographs from the state that you’d like to show off, be sure to share them with the Only in North Dakota Facebook page and they may be featured on the page or used in future posts!
