The reports are coming in – people are seeing thousands upon thousands of snow geese headed south for the winter over North Dakota. These massive flocks are mesmerizing to see, and even more magical to hear. Be on the lookout for them in the coming days, and you’ll be in for quite the sight.

These bright white and black snow geese might be a familiar sight to many North Dakotans. The migratory species makes its long trek from up north to the south and vice versa every single year.

Unlike other geese species that travel in smaller groups, snow geese travel in massive groups with numbers in the thousands and sometimes millions.
