Leah moved to North Dakota when she was 12 years old and has traveled from the Red River Valley to the badlands and many places in between. She loves small-town life and currently enjoys living on a small farm in the ND prairie. She's always had a passion for writing and has participated in novel writing challenges such as NaNoWriMo multiple times. Her favorite part about this job is recognizing small businesses that deserve a boost and seeing the positive affect her articles can have on their traffic, especially in rural areas that might have otherwise gone overlooked.
It’s coming up faster than you think – one of the biggest and funnest festivals in North Dakota! This year will be the 40th year it’s been held and it’s going to be huge. If you haven’t been to this festival before then September of 2017 will be your chance to experience “pure Scandimonium.” You don’t want to miss it, and here’s why:
Norsk Høstfest is a huge festival held in Minot, North Dakota annually. In 2017 it will be held on September 27-30.
The name of the game is everything Scandinavian, which many North Dakotans are descended from. From the vikings to today, there is a bit of everything from all of the countries.
You can watch the food be prepared in traditional ways and enjoy the tasty outcome! There are even classes and activities that you can do yourself. The festival also has food competitions such as the Lefse Masters Competition.
