What one-of-a-kind destinations can I visit in North Dakota?

There are plenty of unique places in North Dakota to discover. If you enjoy a bit of a drive, the Enchanted Highway staring in Regent is a great spot to visit. The road will take you through a giant outdoor art gallery of sorts, with huge metal sculptures along the side that range from ginormous grasshoppers to a towering Teddy Roosevelt on a rearing horse. They are all made by the same artist, and one of them is even the record holder for the largest metal scrap sculpture in the world. Another unique spot is Mystical Horizons, a modern-day Stonehenge located in the Turtle Mountains up north. Not only is it cool to look at, but it’s also a functional solar calendar.

What are the coolest attractions in North Dakota?

Touring North Dakota means no shortage of neat places to visit. Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park is one of the state’s most popular parks not only for its great historical value, but also for all the attractions it boasts. Along with historic fort buildings, fascinating earth lodges, and beautiful views of the Missouri River, it is also home to ND’s one and only operating trolley. You can ride it through the natural beauty of the area to some of the historic sites. Lake Sakakawea is the largest lake in the state and boasts plenty of fun things to do and ways to cool off in the summer. It has more miles of coastline than California and multiple parks, recreation areas, and resorts along its banks that provide hours worth of fun.

What can I do with kids in North Dakota?

Enchanting places are great for kids, and there are other things to do in North Dakota that are perfect to bring them to. The North Dakota Heritage Center is a state-of-the-art museum on North Dakota’s capital grounds that has incredible exhibits, artifacts, and fun activities kids will love, and your wallet will love it too since it’s entirely free to visit. Kids may also like visiting a place like Gateway To Science, also located in Bismarck, that’ll immerse them in the world of science through interactive exhibits that’ll keep them entertained for hours.
