This Classic Historic Steakhouse In North Dakota Has Legendary Steaks
If you ask a local in or nearby Devils Lake, North Dakota, where you can find the best steaks around, chances are they will all point in the same direction: whichever way it is to The Ranch Steakhouse. This local legend has been around since the 1940s and, to this day, does steak, chops, ribs, and more right… every time. No matter how you like your ribeye – rare, medium-rare, medium, medium-well, or ruined – we’re not here to judge, and neither are the kind, expert chefs at The Ranch. This steakhouse in North Dakota is just about as gourmet as it gets, and you’ll soon understand every reason why this place is cemented in the hearts and minds of locals as THE place to go.
The Ranch opened up in 1946, and at that time, it was up to the two owners - Loyd and Maxine Engh - to run the day-to-day.
Well, they did everything right, because today - more than 75 years later - it's still going strong. It's established itself as the best of the best, and we don't disagree.
The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. If you've ever had any questions about your steaks, well, the kind folks at The Ranch are good folks to ask.
Take your pick from all the classics, each one guaranteed to be just as juicy, fresh and perfect as the last. Our personal favorite is the prime rib... mostly. But then there's the ribeye... and the filet mignon. Hmm.
Honestly, it ultimately doesn't matter what you choose. It's going to be prepared to perfection.
If there's anything to be gleaned from the rave reviews, it's that just about nobody regrets their trip out to Devils Lake simply to get the best steaks in town - if not the state - no matter where they are.
