The Small Town In North Dakota That’s One Of The Coolest In The U.S.
North Dakota is full of delightful little towns that prove that big cities aren’t the only interesting places to be. Even though they may not have many residents, they still have plenty of things to see and do that make them awesome. This small town in the eastern region of North Dakota is a perfect example of a town that anyone would love.
Their motto is "A Place To Call Home," and that definitely rings true. The town of Lisbon, North Dakota has a population of just over 2,000 people, but you would expect it had more with how much there is to see there.
The town itself has many unique and awesome buildings, including the Scenic Theater - the longest running movie theater in all of America. This theater was established in 1911 and is still in operation today.
Another historic building in Lisbon is the Lisbon Opera House, which is over a century old. It was opened in 1889 and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
Lisbon has quite a few hangout spots, including restaurants such as the Stake-Out, an ice cream shop called I Scream U Scream, and a combination coffee shop and store Hodenattes.
Even their post office is lovely to look at! Lisbon is full of the comforts of small town living while still having all the amenities and more of a bigger city. It's definitely one of the coolest small towns!
