There’s No Church In The World Like This One In North Dakota
Churches, chapels, and cathedrals come in a huge variety of shapes and sizes and are usually quite beautiful. North Dakota has its own fair share of lovely churches and not only that, but also unique, history-filled churches that are special in their own ways. The stories behind these places, as well as what they are made of and how, make them like no other places in the world. Here is one fascinating example in the tiny little town of Dresden, ND:
The itty bitty town of Dresden in Cavalier County is pretty empty these days. It is located near Langdon, ND.
The Holy Trinity Church was built in 1936. It was made out of the many stones and rocks found in nearby fields and prairies and is still standing today.
The stone structure is unlike any other, taking from the land and history of the region and creating a place that is one with where it stands. It was made into the museum it is today in 1969.
The rest of the Cavalier County Museum is just as fascinating and delightful to visit. It includes seven historic buildings that will make you feel like you are taking a step back into time. If you're ever in the area, be sure to stop by.
This church is not ginormous or very well known, but what it does have is a rich history and ties to the land and the people that live here - and that's what makes it amazing.
The Cavalier County Museum is located about six miles north of Langdon, ND off of Highway 5. Be aware that it is only open for touring during the summer months. For more information, here is their website.
