This Gourmet Candy Store In North Dakota Will Make You Feel Like A Kid Again
Fulfill your childhood dreams of being surrounded by nothing but delicious homemade candies and chocolates at what has become a staple for many people in eastern North Dakota. This place has been in the same family of candy and chocolate makers for generations since its conception in 1885, and it’s thanks to this store that the entire world has what is now a pretty well known treat.

Widman's has practically become a family name in the area it is from in Grand Forks. Though the original founder of the Widman's name was based in Iowa, they moved here and have been here every since, creating a variety of unique chocolate and sugary treats, handmade right there in the shop.

Stepping in here can easily cause your sugar-filled childhood dreams to kick back in and you may never want to leave! The amount of tasty creations Widman's produces in this small shop is amazing. You know a place must be good when it has been around and loved by everyone who goes there for over 130 years.
If all of these weren't enough, they are responsible for a treat that many people may not have realized originated here.

Though the concept has been spreading and being adapted by many companies since decades ago, the original concept of the chipper came from right here in North Dakota at Widman's. They serve them in a variety of types - shown above - including the three must-haves: milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and white chocolate. They have the perfect salty-sweet combination that makes them truly addictive. Only Widman's makes them best, using locally grown Red River Valley potatoes to make the chips and hand dipping each one into the gourmet chocolate.
