There’s Nothing Better Than This Mouthwatering Burger Trail In North Dakota
Nothing can top the tastiness of a good, juicy burger. If you’re a burger enthusiast who wants to go on the ultimate burger experience in central and western North Dakota, you’ll definitely want to head out on this mouthwatering burger trail. It’ll take you from Bismarck all the way to Bowman with five of some of the best burger joints to stop at along the way. Let’s hit the road!
This burger trail will start in Bismarck, North Dakota and head west, stopping at five different restaurants along the way.
For full directions and a map,
. The route is roughly 3 and a half hours long with plenty of burger goodness throughout!
Our first stop begins in North Dakota's capitol, Bismarck, at one of the most popular burger joints that began right here, Sickies Garage.
Sickies Garage Burger & Brews is a burger joint that touts 50 burgers and 50 brews and is a great place to start out. They began here in Bismarck and have since expanded to Fargo, as well. Their burgers come in a wide variety, from a classic combination of meat and cheese on a bun to more unique toppings like mac and cheese, tater tot hot dish, or mozzarella sticks. And that's just the toppings - their bun options get pretty wild, too! Feeling crazy? Try glazed donuts for buns, or two full grilled cheese sandwiches (really, I'm not joking) as a bun. The options are seemingly endless, but this isn't your last stop. It's only the beginning, so save room for the next place.
Next, we move over the river to Mandan with Station West Bar & Grill.
This grill serves up exceptionally juicy and delicious burgers you'll love. Stack them high the usual or get them with sauerkraut, coleslaw, or a bit of spicy cajun seasoning. Any way you get it, Station West is ready to serve up perfection to you.
Continuing on, we head out west to Dickinson and stop at a relatively new restaurant that's already making a lot of buzz - Blue 42.
Blue 42 Sports Grille & Bar opened last year and has already become some people's new favorite place to get a burger. They have a great variety of options, including bison burgers, cheese-stuffed burgers, or even burgers with poutine on top. No matter your taste, if you love burgers, you'll love this place.
We'll head further west to the fun town of Medora to try the Maltese Cross Burgers in the downtown area of this charming place.
This walk-up burger joint is a no-frills, all-delicious taste place where you can get a good, hearty burger. While you're there, you can explore the town and see the beautiful badlands from behind that yummy burger.
To finish off our burger trail, we'll end in Bowman at Grazer's Burgers & Beer.
Grazer's is all about the burgers, it's in the name after all, and they know what they're doing on the grill. You'll love their 14 different burgers all made to perfection and served with their homemade chips.
After all is said and done, you’ll feel like a burger connoisseur of some of North Dakota’s best burger joints. What other places would you add to this trip? Even if you don’t do it in a road trip, here is the state’s
burger bucket list that any burger enthusiast has to check out.
