Bottineau, North Dakota is a town in the north-central region of the state, tucked away in the Turtle Mountains, and with a population of just under 2,300. Thousands more people flock to this area to enjoy the "Four Seasons Playground."
The area around Bottineau is perfect for all kinds of outdoor recreation. In the summer you can canoe or kayak on the many lakes and ponds of the region, hike through the forests, or explore the multiple parks, recreation areas, and wildlife refuges within the vicinity.
Fall brings a colorful array of beauty to the area as the dense trees turn into hundreds of shades of red and gold. Stay in a cabin or yurt at Lake Metigoshe State Park, horseback ride through the forest trails, or take advantage of the excellent hunting opportunities here.
Winter doesn't keep people indoors in Bottineau - there's still plenty to do here during the cold season. Grab a pair of snowshoes or cross-country skis and adventure through the trails that way. They're still just as picturesque as in the warmer seasons.
