Built in 1937 from hand-chiseled stone and placed by workers of the Civilian Conservation Corp, it oozes both history and charm and you'll be immediately drawn to the structure. Go ahead; climb those stairs and see what's up.

Typically, if a mountain is called a bald, then it means the top of the mountain is mysteriously free of trees. Such is the case on Wayah Bald, where the top of the mountain is scattered with large boulders. Believe it or not, the boulders strewn all over the bald are as popular as is the tower.
But few things surpass a visit here at sunrise or sunset.
