The Hidden Eco-Glamp Island Cottage In North Carolina Is A Beach Getaway With The Utmost Charm
How often have you dreamed of having your own private island escape? Not only is it within reach here in the Tar Heel State, but it’s also much more affordable than you’d think, thanks to this eco-smart little island cottage in North Carolina!
Located on your own private slice of sandy paradise sits a tiny little cottage capable of hosting 6 guests.
(There's a queen bed in the loft, another queen bed on the main floor, and an inflatable mattress for two.)
It's rustic, alright. But it does have air conditioning (and heat when needed), a composting toilet, hot water, a rain barrel with potable water, a forty-foot dock, and so much more. But remember, it's rustic.
For that affordable night's stay you'll be captained over on a ferry boat (did we mention you can only get to this island by boat?). You'll have professionally cleaned sheets provided (which you'll bring over with you), four kayaks to use (for free), a gas stove top for cooking, plus a bbq grill.
The cabin's screened-in porch overlooks the water. But of course, the entire island is small enough to see water in every direction from just about anywhere on the island.
A few things to know before you go: You’ll need to pack just like you’re taking a tenting expedition. Bring everything with you. The cabin is a roof over your head – with a few basic amenities. Conversely, you’ll need to pack everything out with you, too (even your garbage). In other words: it’s a perfect spot for a remote kind of getaway!
If you like one-of-a-kind getaways like this island cottage in North Carolina, then you’ll love a visit to the mountains if you get to stay in this hobbit-themed earthen home!
