The Most Unique Campground In North Carolina That’s Pure Magic
Have you ever camped in tent? How about a camper? Okay… and what about a tepee? Camping, as you know, comes in many forms from primitive, back country trips all the way to the other end of the spectrum where camping takes place in a $200,000 RV. Somewhere in the middle of that spectrum you’ll find tepee camping. You won’t find many tepees available in North Carolina but Blue Bear Mountain in Todd has you covered! Located a mere 20 minutes north of Boone, Blue Bear Mountain has tepees and once you see them, you’ll be on your iPad making a reservation.
And why not? The weather is perfect for tepee camping right now!
Blue Bear Mountain has a number of furnished tepees for rent. Most of the tepee sites also allow for at least one other tent to be erected, if your party is bigger than will fit in the tepee.
Since the campground is located on a high meadow on top of a mountain there are big views to be had all day long... and at night... the whole sky is at your beck and call.
While tepee camping is what we are featuring here, know that Blue Bear Mountain also has tent camping and trailer camping spaces for rent and the overnight rates are very reasonable.
They include: additional space for at least one tent, 110-volt power outlets, a grill, benches made out of logs, a bistro table and chairs in the tepee, picnic table outside, stone fire ring, a free bundle of firewood, and access to the bathhouse.
Tepees at Blue Bear Mountain currently rent for $125 per night. Prices are subject to change based on availability or season. Learn more from the Blue Bear Mountain website.
