This Natural Waterslide In North Carolina Will Make Your Summer Epic
Summer is the perfect time to take advantage of North Carolina’s many amazing swimming holes. In a state with gorgeous mountain peaks and rushing waterfalls, there are plenty of times nature throws the best pool parties.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate

Like Sliding Rock, a natural 60 ft. waterfall and waterslide located near Brevard.

On summer weekends, you'll see adults, children, and families line up to get their chance at the thrill.

Your first slide down is 50% exhilarating and 50% 'it's freezing what is going on!' But it's awesome, and once you hit that cool water, you'll want to do it again. The 8ft. pool at the bottom is also great to splash right into if you pick up some speed.

There's really no other place like it in North Carolina. I remember my first time at Sliding Rock and it just gets better with each visit!

Nearly 11,000 gallons of water flows down the rock each minute. Located in the Pisgah National Forest, it's a great midday stop between other hikes.

Sliding Rock is open during off-hours but lifeguards are on duty May-August during daylight hours. It gets a little busy during the weekends, but part of the fun is watching everyone go first, right?
And as if you need more reasons to visit – this video is pretty convincing.
Sliding Rock is a North Carolina right of passage. It will complete your summer! Have you been here before?
