In North Carolina, rhododendron season usually fully 'blooms' in late May and the first week of June. It's important to see the rhododendrons while you can, as by late June the blooms have fallen to the ground. A great way to experience the blooms and also learn a bit more about Grandfather Mountain is to participate in the rhododendron ramble June 1-11.
