Between our southern charm, adventurous spirit, and passionate nature…you’re getting the perfect combination marrying a North Carolinian. Still not convinced? Read these eleven reasons.
Family dinners? Meeting the parents? No worries here! We love family dinners. We'll help your Mom in the kitchen or help your Dad with his car. We've grown up being taught to respect our elders and we have plenty of that Carolina charm to last for days.
When you marry someone southern you're guaranteed a life filled with casseroles, home cooked meals, fried chicken, BBQ, and plenty of leftovers to last you for days. Even if your new 'boo' isn't the chef type, there's no doubt they'll know some amazing BBQ joints and classic diners to take you to (and that their parents can cook as well).
It's not just sports where North Carolinians show their passion and loyalty, but every other aspect of our lives. We were raised to support our teams and beliefs no matter what. You can be sure you're marrying someone who is always passionate, always loyal, and will stick by your side even during a 'bad season' in your life.
One day you and your sweetie will be hiking through the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, then pitching a tent beneath the stars. The next, you'll be sitting on the beach with a cold one in hand. We've perfected the 'balance' of adventure and relaxation. We also teach these traits as parents, allowing our children to find their inner adventurer but to also respect simplicity and go with the flow.
North Carolina is very much a musical state and its citizens are no different. Being from a state that has always produced famous musical talent and the most American Idol winners means one thing: we know good music.
North Carolina is an extremely arts-centered state. While some parts of the state are more traditional, other parts are extremely progressive. You'll find a mix of both in your average North Carolinian.

North Carolina is home to dozens of craft breweries, hundreds of wineries, and award-winning restaurants. Sure we can be simple, but we also like a little bit of fancy.
We've grown up surrounded by beautiful scenery. You'll never find us turning down a drive on the scenic route or not appreciating the simple beauties that surround us.
