Known as the 'cradle of golf,' Pinehurst is home to nine award winning courses and one golf resort. While its claim to fame is indeed golf, the town has so much more to offer.
The downtown is charming and cute, filled with shops, restaurants, and of course familiar faces. It's not a strange sight to see both cars AND golf cars zipping along the streets.
Aside from being a great place to live, it is also one of the safest cities in America with a 0.52 crime rate/1000 citizens.
But of course with all the tranquility, peace of mind, and charm, it's not going to be cheap. The cost of living in Pinehurst is 19% higher than the NC average. But if you have the funds to make it happen, and maybe you also REALLY love playing golf, this is a great place to call home!
Pinehurst has a little bit of everything one needs to survive in a small town. Schools, shops, restaurants, a community college, even Moore County Airport. It's safe to say that Pinehurst is basically that perfect small town we always see in movies, and wonder if it actually exists somewhere.
