Maybe you’re new to the Tar Heel state, or maybe you’ve lived here all your life. Either way, you can’t call yourself a ‘North Carolinian’ without experiencing some VERY true North Carolinian experiences…like these 14.

1. Try both types of BBQ and get in a debate over which one is better.

2. Visit waterfalls in the summer and find the perfect one to take a dip in.

3. Catch a mountainside sunrise.

4. And a beachside sunset.

5. Take a long Sunday drive on beautiful backroads.

6. Impulsively pull into Krispy Kreme because the hot light is on.

7. Do a little dancing to some live Bluegrass.

8. Cheer on your favorite college basketball team at an actual game.

9. Drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway in fall.

10. Conquer a challenging hiking trail that leads you to a beautiful view.

11. Visit a few lighthouses.

12. Spend the day at the gorgeous Biltmore Estate.

13. Wake up at 6AM to drive to the beach and spend a long, lazy day there (or week).

14. Brag about how amazing North Carolina is and how nothing will ever replace 'home.'
