great idea. Next time you’re on the hunt for a little adventure, consider taking the day to explore this enchanting natural pool tucked away in the mountains.
The Midnight Hole is a natural swimming pool tucked away in the Big Creek Area of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
The 1.5-mile hiking trail is fairly easy, so bring the whole family out for a day of outdoor adventure.
But leave your four-legged friend at home for this one, no dogs are allowed here.
The hiking trail continues on past the swimming hole, and we’ll get to that in a minute, but after your 1.5 mile hike through the forests, you’ll be met with an enchanting emerald swimming hole that just begging you to take a dip.
The water can be a tad on the cold side, but don’t let that stop you! Jumping off the rocks into the refreshing waters is a popular activity here.
Sometimes, it’s the best way to enter chilly waters. Just make sure you are jumping far enough out so that you don’t injure yourself on the rocks. The water here is crystal clear, so you'll be able to see where you're jumping.
While the area can get pretty crowded on the weekends, especially if the temperatures are rising, but you can always find yourself a secluded spot to sit back and enjoy the view.

If you continue further up the trail for about half a mile, you'll come to Mouse Creek Falls, a stunning waterfall that is the perfect way to end this epic outdoor adventure.
