Inside and out, this town has made sure that everyone knows what Southern Hospitality is like at the core.

Welcome to a spot known as the "Friendliest Town in the South" by many visitors over more than 125 years. It's a tiny little town, but never feels empty because of just how friendly it is here.

Tryon has a lot of history dating back to Cherokee native tribes hunting on the land for thousands of years before the Spanish arrived. Spaniards arrived in 1540 in search of gold, but moved on. Later, Tryon was established with a post office in 1839 and named after the governor, William Tryon.

Being the friendliest town around is usually not that hard, but claiming the whole south as your friendly competition is a tough race to finish first in. They don't call it Southern Hospitality for nothing, after all.
