Britt’s Donut Shop in North Carolina has locals going wild for the homemade glazed donuts made right there on the boardwalk of Carolina Beach. You won’t mind waiting in line too at this iconic, cash-only establishment that has been around for over 80 years. And it’s not just the locals who know about this place as it has graced the pages of such national publications as National Geographic Traveler, Food & Wine Magazine, and MSN City Guides as the second-best doughnut in the nation. It is impressive to see the diligent work that goes into putting these fine treats out. They have had a long time to hone their skills and create the best donuts in town since they have been open for over 80 years. This little donut shop all started with a humble husband and wife duo. Mr. and Mrs. Niven opened up the shop in 1939 and operated it for over 40 years. This couple's hard work is what made this iconic sweet spot a must while visiting the Carolina Beach area.
