This magnificent park holds an interesting history, several stunning views, rock formations, and hiking trails, including Hickory Nut Falls Trail. The easy loop trail takes you to another world of a steep 404-foot waterfall. Set aside about 45 minutes to enjoy this 1.5-mile out-and-back hike near Lake Lure, North Carolina.

To get to Hickory Nut Falls Trail, park at the top lot near Chimney Rock and walk down the road to the trailhead, or take the stairs at the lowest wood deck below Chimney Rock.
