Enjoy Cool, Crisp Water At What Was Once Just A Little Creek In North Carolina
Did you know North Carolina has a flow-through water park and it’s loads of fun for the whole family? Come along as we explore Sun Crest Water Park in Taylorsville. It’s a family-owned water park that’s been hosting summertime fun for more than 40 years!
Think of this little oasis as a water playground and you'll be right on the money!
Sun Crest opened more than four decades ago after the family created an entire water park using the cool, flow-through waters of a tiny creek whose head waters are about a mile upstream. For those who are allergic to chlorine, the natural water is ideal.
Because the park is located about halfway between Charlotte and the Virginia border, opening dates each season are usually in mid-June, when the air (and water) has a chance to warm up a bit in this part of the state.
Keep an eye on the park's Facebook page for this year's opening date announcement — and then get ready for a day of fun!
Aside from the natural water flowing through this little water park, the attraction also features six water slides with at least one that will appeal to every age, plus a rope swing.
Sun Crest Water Park is located 72 miles northwest of Charlotte, 68 miles southwest of Winston-Salem, and 94 miles northeast of Asheville. It’s totally accessible for a fun day trip the whole family can enjoy! Keep an eye on the park’s Facebook page (link above) for open dates and hours.
