The Enchanting Hot Air Balloon Festival In North Carolina You Need To Experience At Least Once
While there are plenty of fall festivals to pencil in on your calendar, one upcoming festival demands in attention and to be honest, you really can’t miss it (literally). With hundreds of hot air balloons taking flight in the sky, this whimsical and memorable festival rings in the autumn season in the most unique way possible.
On the third weekend in October, something truly magical happens in Statesville. Hot air balloons of all shapes and sizes come together to 'launch off' at this epic festival. Dazzling colors and shapes float through the air, fire adds radiance to the night sky as the festival continues. There's also an 'artisan village' and marketplace for shopping, live music, and of course, and a wine and beer tasting garden.
This year's festival takes place October 20-22. If you've ever wanted to be escorted through the sky, one special aspect of the festival is you can book a ticket to ride-along in one of the many hot air balloons.
Away from the attraction, the lively small town of Statesville makes for the perfect place to witness from atop a hot air balloon or watch one drift by.
Throughout three-day festival, you can expect to see 50 hot air balloons, 3 mass ascensions, a Saturday balloon glow, activities for the kids, and lots of great food. you'll have plenty of time to admire all of the hot air balloons...and maybe even muster up the courage to take a ride in one! You won't find another festival of this caliber in North Carolina.
