14 Amazing Things People In North Carolina Can’t Live Without
North Carolina is an amazing state, and it’s easy to see that North Carolinians have grown accustomed to certain things. Some part of our culture, some a way of life, and others the natural beauty we’re blessed with each day. Sure, you can take us out of North Carolina, but you can’t take the Carolina out of us. And these 14 things no North Carolinian could live without.
1. All four seasons.
In North Carolina we get all four seasons, in all their glory. North Carolinians wouldn't have it any other way.
2. Not just one, but two types of BBQ.
As a BBQ loving state, naturally we have to have TWO types of BBQ and a whole East vs. Lexington debate to go along. Everyone has their favorite!
3. Long summer nights spent outside.
It doesn't matter where, but we love to be outdoors and enjoy the warm summer nights.
4. Endless adventure.
In a state with unlimited options for adventure and outdoor recreation you'll find us hiking, surfing, skiing, even hang gliding!
5. But of course, balancing out that adventurous spirit with a little rest and relaxation.
Preferably on the beach.
6. Fresh air.
We're happiest when we're outside.
Any kind, but especially basketball!
8. At least one snowfall.
Winter just wouldn't be the same without a little flurry-induced freakout.
9. Krispy Kreme doughnuts!
It's basically blasphemy if you go to Dunkin' in North Carolina.
10. Speaking of food, our favorite 'drive-thrus.'
I don't even want to imagine a world without both.
Apples, white squirrels, seafood, beer, bluegrass...you name it, North Carolina has a festival for it.
12. Breathtaking scenery all around.
Sometimes it takes us leaving the state to realize how gorgeous it is. But North Carolinians are spoiled with breathtaking beauty, yet we never take it for granted.
13. Our family, friends, and community.
We really couldn't live without the bonds we form with others. Family is important to us here, but our best friends also become our family. We take pride in our state but also the towns and cities we come from in North Carolina.
14. Love for our state.
We're a proud bunch, that's for sure! But we wouldn't have it any other way.
