The One Chocolate Factory In North Carolina You'll Want To Visit

If you’re like me and have a sweet tooth, chocolate is something that makes the world go ’round. While many of us flock to the grocery store for a quick purchase, true chocolate connoisseurs can immerse themselves even more in the craft by taking a tour of a chocolate factory. Black Mountain Chocolate, located in the Piedmont, is the perfect place to learn a little bit more of the art that is bean to bar.

While Black Mountain is indeed a town outside of Asheville, the name, brand, and business comfortably fits right into Winston-Salem's Arts District along Trade Street. Owner Brent Peters purchased the business in 2013 after a long career in banking and legal services. He had found a new interest in the chocolate making and acquired the company (originally based in Black Mountain) after exchanging a few messages with the past owner.

Today a variety of chocolates and chocolate-centric goodies come straight from the Winston-Salem store where they're made. If you can't pop in on a whim, Black Mountain Chocolate bars are retailed throughout North Carolina as well as a variety of other goodies available for online purchase.
