The Land Of Oz Is Opening For A Limited Time And You’ll Want To Get Tickets Now
This past May, Land of Oz theme park announced it would be opening for four weekends in June, with personal tours of the park given by Dorothy. This elusive theme park is rarely open, usually only once a year for Autumn at Oz. When people heard the theme park would be opening its doors, ticket sales skyrocketed. When I say skyrocketed, I mean, the server actually crashed as thousands of people attempted to buy tickets at one time. With only 800 tickets total, many were disappointed they weren’t able to have their own Wizard of Oz experience on Beech Mountain.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate
North Carolina's Land of Oz is more based on the novel by L. Frank Baum than the movie, but the magic is just the same. There's Dorothy's Kansas farm (including Dorothy's house), the twister, the yellow brick road, and of course...all of your favorite characters.
At this point, tickets are selling so fast that those with tickets are even posting in the Autumn at Oz Facebook group selling theirs. It's crazy to think just a few years ago, this theme park was practically considered abandoned. Now, Land of Oz is one of the most coveted destinations in North Carolina. Due to it frequently being closed, and its unique setting, there's nothing like it in North Carolina or the US.
