There’s A 150-Mile Yard Sale Going Right Through North Carolina Early This Summer
Start making plans now friends. There’s a 150-mile yard sale in North Carolina that takes place the weekend before the official start of summer. What a perfect time to be driving along rural roads near the coast! You’ll be stopping along the way, of course, to check out the unique items and deals on the highway on U.S. Highway 301, which runs parallel to Interstate 95… but is much more scenic and way more fun.
Technically, the folks who produce this yard sale call it a 100-mile-plus journey. But it begins in Weldon and ends in Dunn… and that’s a little over 150 miles. Let’s take a look at the 301 Endless Yard Sale set for June 17-18, 2022.
What began years and years ago as a 30-mile yard sale that launched in Selma has grown to encompass more than 150 miles, five North Carolina counties, and countless yard sales on the journey. And that's not even mentioning all of the antique and second-hand stores, too!
From vintage and gently used to even brand new things that may still have the tags, this is definitely the biggest and the longest summer yard sale in the South and you don't want to miss it.
Get it on the calendar and start making plans. And be sure to include time to stop and dine in the small towns on the trek. You may even want to go ahead NOW and make a hotel reservation so you can really take your time.
One thing to consider: you may find it easier to show up with cash in small bills than to get change from the twenty-dollar bills you'll be able to extract from an ATM. So start collecting your small bills now.
It takes place June 17-18, 2022. Of course, you can start anywhere on U.S. Highway 301 between Weldon and Dunn. But those two towns are the bookends of the sale this year.
