Only those of us who are lucky enough to call ourselves New Yorkers can truly appreciate just how amazing and unique this state is. From the gorgeous mountains to the flavorful foods, there are certain things that you’ll always relate the Empire State to in your mind. Keep reading to see our list of things that will always make you think about your state when you find yourself away from home.

There may be bigger mountains than the ones that you'll find in New York, but anytime we happen to catch a glimpse of any other state's tall mountainous wonders we can't help but think about our beauties back at home.

To any New Yorker that's never left our state, it may be surprising to find out that not all states are as decorated in waterfalls as New York is. So when we visit other places that have smaller waterfalls, we always think about how lucky we are to have such huge, towering waterfalls right here in our state.

New York's small towns are the heart of our state, so we always think of ours when we travel through our states's small towns.

Seeing fall foliage anywhere else around the U.S. only reminds us of New York's beautiful vibrant colors because our state's foliage is simply the best!

All regions of New York are well versed in the art of snow storms and general snowfall, Western New York specifically.

Make your way out to the Finger Lakes and travel along scenic roads like Route 20 and you'll find rolling hills and beautiful farmland that will having you pulling over to enjoy the view.

Plenty of places all around the world do their best to replicate a good New York style pizza, but none will compare to the actual pizza that you can find in our state!

Even on the West Coast you'll find non-New York residents sporting Yankee and Buffalo Bills apparel. People can't help but love the best teams!

Wegmans may originally from New York, but now you can find these extraordinary super markets all along the East Coast.
