This Schoharie County cavern allows you to experience all the joys of exploring caves without having to go through the trouble of spelunking.

He noticed that his cows frequently gathered at the bottom of a hill on hot days, and when he approached the area, he felt a cool breeze. As he dug at the spot, he found a cave, which was then named for him. He opened up a tourist attraction on the site, which was eventually shut down due to financial difficulties. The property was a limestone quarry for a time, but reopened to the public in 1929.
