The Magical Place In New York Where It’s Christmas Year-Round
If you thought that you had to say goodbye to Christmas when you bid farewell to winter, guess again! You may remember that last year we talked about how the
town of North Pole turns into an amazing winter wonderland each and every year. But one thing many people don’t realize is that the town’s main attraction, Santa’s Workshop, actually stays open throughout the entire year. Bringing the holiday spirit to you even on the warmest of days, it’s time to shake things up a bit by visiting this fun park during the “off season”.
Up in Essex County, (where you can find New York's beautiful Adirondack Mountains), is a one-of-a-kind amusement park.
Open since the summer of 1949, Santa's Workshop has been a longtime family favorite destination to visit.
Considered to be America's very first theme park, this destination gives visitors the chance to experience Christmas all year long.
Here at the park you can find a Christmas village that's filled with holiday cheer and a variety of shops for you to explore.
A great place to enjoy some family fun, the park has a Toy Maker Shop, Hat Maker Shop, Candy Shop and a Bake Shop.
Another building that you'll love to check out? The Reindeer Barn where you can visit all of Santa's reindeer before they gear up for their big annual trip in the sky!
Featuring all of Santa's classics, the park has Saint Nicholas' Chapel that you'll find sitting on a charming pond and even Santa's house where you can see where he lays his head at night.
One of the best parts about Santa's Workshop though? It's home to the North Pole's official Post Office! From here you can mail out parcels that will receive an actual North Pole postmark on them!
If you thought that there was only Santa's Village to keep you busy, have no fear. The park also has a
variety of rides and attractions that will keep your family busy all day.
You can find a ferris wheel, roller coaster, carousel and plenty of other rides here. But if you ask us? Our favorite ride is the Candy Cane Express train ride.
Currently operating on its summer schedule that runs through September 3rd, the park is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10AM to 4:30PM
Just over a week ago we talked about one of New York's most magnificent scenic drives,
Whiteface Memorial Highway
! Well guess what? Santa's Workshop can be found right on this highway! So if you were interesting in taking a drive up New York's fifth tallest mountain, this is just one more reason why you should head up this way.
