A long time favorite, The Sagamore Resort opened back in 1883!
This history of this resort is quite fascinating and there's much more than meets the eye. The resort suffered through two fires in both 1893 and 1914, afterwards undergoing a full reconstruction in 1930. In its original days, the resort had a variety of visitors and quickly became popular, but sadly would close its doors in the early 1980s. Lucky for us, 100 years after opening its doors, a developer bought the resort with the goal of fully restoring it all.
The idea was originally created with the desire to build a resort that would feature the beautiful surrounding area of Lake George and the Adirondacks.
You'll have a hard time not looking like a tourist here even if you're from the area! With so much gorgeous scenery surrounding you, you'll have a hard time not constantly snapping pictures of everything you see and enjoy during your visit.
Included in your resort fee, you can take an unforgettable boat ride on The Morgan.
Pictured above, you can see The Morgan, which is a replica of a 19th century touring vessel. How beautiful? The boat rides last an hour and a half, bringing you around Lake George and can have up to 75 guest onboard. There's nothing like being out on the water!
Another incredible feature of this resort that draws in a ton of visitors, is their noteworthy 18-hole golf course.
Receiving awards all around, the resort's restaurants are no exception! A favorite option you'll hear past visitors speaking about is the fantastic food you'll get from La Bella Vita, the perfect place to eat.
