New York’s Charming Town Of White Plains Looks Like A Gingerbread Village Come To Life
Daily readers of Only In New York may recall that recently we spoke about how the World’s Largest Gingerbread Village is right here in the Empire State. As delicious as it is to take a look at that one-of-a-kind attraction, there’s another holiday destination that will also make you stop and look twice. Making you question whether or not you’re looking at real houses or a giant gingerbread village, see why you can’t miss out on seeing one of the North Kensico Christmas Light Show’s last years of operation.
Tucked away within the town of White Plains, the North Kensico Christmas Light Show has been up and running every holiday season since 2008.
Free for all to enjoy, these local families string up more than 10,000 lights and turn their homes into one of the best holiday light displays in all of New York.
For 2019, the North Kensico Christmas Light Show will be up and running between November 24, 2019 and January 1, 2020, growing in size every year that it's continued on.
If you've never seen this display for yourself, you'll want to make a point to visit this year if not next, due to the sad announcement that their next 2020 winter season will be its last.
While you're certainly welcome to make a quick drive-by on your way through town, visitors are encouraged to park their cars and get out to further explore the display and the backyards.
So head to White Plains and tune your radio to 107.7 FM, because the North Kensico Christmas Light Show is ready to make you feel like you're in a real-life gingerbread village!
