6 Stops Everyone Must Make Along New York’s Pizza Trail
New York City is known for having some of the best pizza in the world, and the Big Apple tends to get most of the attention for its New York style pies. But there are tons of other great pizzerias throughout the state where you can get your pizza fix. From Buffalo to Poughkeepsie, here are a few of our favorite spots across New York to grab a slice.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate

Go for the fresh pizza, stay for the hearty Italian entrees. This Poughkeepsie staple has it all, from a vast pasta selection to oven-roasted subs.

Whether you live in Utica or are just stopping through, this local pizza shop is worth the trip. And if you're more of a wings fan, they've got you covered there, too.

Sovrana Pizza and Deli has been an Albany favorite since it opened in 1985. It has a great selection of pizzas, salads, and desserts. It's won multiple awards for having some of the best pizza in the capital region over the years, so make sure to add this local gem to your list.

Pavone's actually got its start in New York City in 1967 after the founding family moved there from Sicily in the late 1950s. In 1971, the family moved to central New York and has been making some of the best pies around ever since.

Lovejoy Pizza is as good as it gets when it's time to grab a good slice in Buffalo; it's widely considered to be some of the best in the area.

Owned and operated by the Cardella family for the last 37 years, Nino's is a go-to spot for some great pizza in the Rochester area. Whether you're looking for some delicious foccacia or thick-crusted Sicilian pizza, Nino's is a great option.
There are countless other great pizza joints throughout upstate New York (not to mention New York City), but these local favorites are a great start if you want to eat your way through one of the tastiest states in the union.
