This short loop is boardwalk all the way and only has 13 feet of elevation gain, which means anyone can enjoy it – including people in wheelchairs and kids in strollers. The Labrador Hollow Unique Area is about 20 miles south of Syracuse in the Kettleball State Forest. It was established in 1978 and it was New York's first designated Unique Area.
This area includes the beautiful 50 foot high Tinker Falls and 102-acre Labrador Pond. It's open year round for hiking, hunting, fishing, nature viewing, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing.
There are 4.8 miles of maintained trails in Labrador Hollow Unique Area, but perhaps the most popular is the 2,000-foot long, handicapped-accessible Boardwalk Trail.
The trail will only take about 10 minutes to complete, but there's no reason that you can't go around again and again. The boardwalk makes it easy for all.
