Spend Your March Sundays Maple Sugaring At The Farmers’ Museum In New York
Here in New York, you’ll find that the month of March is exciting for all sorts of reasons. Each year, our residents anticipate the month of March not only due to the fact that it marks the official arrival of the spring season, but also because it’s during this month that we celebrate all things maple! If you’ve been wondering what activities you’re going to dive into this month, then you can’t miss out on reading about how The Farmers’ Museum has their very own Sugaring Off Sundays.
Taking over The Farmers' Museum in Cooperstown, every Sunday during the month of March you can attend Sugaring Off Sundays.
Between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on each March Sunday, you'll find an assortment of activities being hosted here in town at the charming museum.
A great way to get the entire family out of the house on a Sunday, visitors can ride the museum's historic carousel, shop around for hand-crafted items in Todd's General Store, visit the Children's Barnyard to see chickens, turkeys, and sheep, and so much more.
To kick off each Sunday, between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., guests can attend a full pancake breakfast that has scrambled eggs, sausage, home fries, local maple syrup, and fresh blueberry sauce for your pancakes - made with berries from Ingalls Blueberry Hill. Yum!
With no reservations required, after breakfast, you can begin to explore the grounds of the museum to check out all sorts of maple activities.
Thanks to the Otsego County Maple Producers, you'll be able to learn more about the maple sugaring process...
...as well as watching both contemporary and historic maple sugaring demonstrations take place.
With local maple products for sale and even horse-drawn wagon rides around the historic village between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., there's plenty to love about this weekly event in Cooperstown.
