You’re Guaranteed To Love A Trip To This Epic Cheese Farm In New York

Recently we wrote about one of our favorite trails to explore in New York, the Finger Lakes Cheese Trail. Bringing you out around Cayuga and Seneca Lake, you’ll find yourself passing a ton of stunning attractions along this route. One of them being? The Lively Run Dairy Farm and Creamery! A perfect addition to this adventure, you’ll want to make a point to take a trip to these particular cheese farm.

Right in between stops 4 & 5 on New York's Ultimate Cheese Trail, Lively Run Dairy can be found out in Seneca County.

Tucked away in the teensy tiny town of Interlaken, the farm has been creating unforgettable cheese since 1982.

And Lively Run is actually one of the longest operating commercial goat dairies in our country!

Arrive to the farm and the fun will begin inside of their quaint cheese shop.

For years the dairy operated using their great tasting goat's milk, but back in 2014 they added three new cow's milk cheeses to their menu.

Lively Run offers Cheese Tastings for just $3 dollars per person, allowing you to get a taste of wide variety of cheeses.

Aside from Cheese Tastings, guests can also pick from quite a few different tour options that are offered here.

And you'll be happy to hear that every tour option available to you features cheese tastings.

The Messmer family and the rest of their staff work hard to bring great tasting cheeses to their visitors.

At the farm and creamery, the goats are fed a wholesome diet that creates the most desirable flavors of cheese.

In recent years the farm expanded their Cheese Room, making production easier for their growing business.

Made by hand, these cheeses can be found in numerous locations all around the Finger Lakes.

Another one of our favorite parts of the farm? The gift shop!

Besides all of their deliciously tasting cheeses, visitors can shop for around for hats, shirts, goat's milk soap and much more.

One of our favorite items to take back home with us after a visit to Lively Run? Their famous cheesecakes!

While we'd love to sit around on the farm and do nothing but eat their cheesecakes, there's a barn full of goats that you're going to want to check out.

Take Lively Run's Barn Tour that's offered every day at 2PM and you'll be greeted by a herd of friendly faces!

Eagerly waiting to to jump in your lap and be wrapped up your arms, these intelligent yet mischievous goats might end up being your favorite part of the trip.

Lively Run has a herd of French and Swiss goats, all of which you'll want to claim as your new best friends.

The farm may not be back open until May but there are quite a few ways you can enjoy their cheeses in the mean time.
