There’s No Other Home In America Quite Like This One In New York
Here in New York, we frequently see strange things that have us doing double takes. If you’re in search of some examples, just check out these 14 strange spots in our state. With that said, we can’t help but feel fascinated when we find ourselves seeing such head-turning attractions! Out of the nearly two thousand islands you’ll find within the Thousand Islands region, there’s nothing quite like this tiny one we’re going to discuss below:

Living in New York means that we get to share territory with our favorite upstairs neighbor, Canada! One of the territories we share? The Thousand Islands. The area of Alexandria Bay is one that draws in many visitors, filled with entertainment and excitement for everyone. From historic and haunted castles to tours on the water, there's so much to be seen in this part of New York.

An eye-catching gem of the St. Lawrence River, Just Room Enough Island is actually a real thing. No this isn't photoshop!

I'm going to give you a moment to let all of this sink in. A house, built on an island too small for Barbie's dream homes, is called Just Room Enough Island and it was bought by a family with the last name Sizeland? You would be justified in wondering if this website had turned into a parody outlet that's trying to fool you, but you'd be wrong! The family bought the piece of New York to create their own perfect paradise, a place to get away from everything and everyone.

Explained here, there are certain requirements when it comes to being an official island of this area. After building the home, planting the tree and setting up some outdoor seating, Just Room Enough Island became official. Unfortunately for the Sizeland family, their quiet getaway from life's chaos very quickly became a popular spectacle. At least they never had to deal with pesky neighbors... sort of. The house is now viewed by visitors taking tours of the nearby areas out on the St. Lawrence River.
