The Christmas Village In New York That Becomes Even More Magical Year After Year
Out in Western New York not far from the shores of Lake Erie, there’s a town that brings Christmas cheer to the area each and every year. Giving you a variety of holiday activities all packed into one location, Hamburg is where you’ll want to head if you’re interested in getting into the holiday spirit. From holiday decorations to meeting the big man of the North Pole himself, let’s find out why this little Christmas village is so magical to experience.
Right in Erie County, Hamburg hosts the annual Festival of Lights at the local Fairgrounds.
Taking place every weekend this year from now until December 23rd, the Fairgrounds transform into a Christmas wonderland.
A $25 dollar Carload Admission fee gets you access to the drive through light displays, all of the activities, shows and events on 42nd Street.
Step inside the Marketplace Building and you'll find that you're suddenly submerged in the North Pole.
You'll find North Pole displays like an elf village, the Arctic, a toy shop you can explore and other buildings you might think to find up here where it's cold.
But the one stop you'll need to make inside the North Pole is to go and say hello to Santa at his house!
Waiting outside to greet you, guests can bring Santa letters that they've written at the new Polar Stop or simply pose for a picture.
A place that you won't want to visit without your camera, the Festival of Lights is considered to be Western New York's largest light display.
The festival also features a drive through light display, made up of over one million LED lights that begins on the Avenue of Flags and takes you throughout the Fairgrounds.
And even better? You can also walk through a Christmas Tree Forest, made up of hundreds of decorated trees that are lit up with thousands of lights!
So, who's ready to experience all of their favorite Christmas activities in one place?
Other notable attractions at the Festival of Lights? The Frosty's 3D Adventure where visitors get to explore a 3,000 square foot room located inside of the Event Center. There will also be popular shows like their holiday magic shows and a train ride that'll take you around the grounds!
