This Haunted Hike In New York Will Send You Running For The Hills

‘Tis the season for all things spooky! With Halloween right around the corner and our fall foliage slowly but surely slipping away from us, now is the time to get outdoors and enjoy your favorite creepy locations before the real cold weather rolls in! Hiding in plain sight, within the small town of Stillwater you can explore the unsettling trails of Saratoga National Historic Park.

Right where one of America's most important victories took place, the rolling hills of the Saratoga Battlefield will send chills down your spine.

Overlooking the upper Hudson River, this historical park is worthy of any true explorer's bucket list. Not only is the scenery at this park absolutely amazing (you won't want to forget your camera for this adventure), Saratoga National Historical Park features tons of informative signs that will put your knowledge of our country's history to the ultimate test.
While there are several areas throughout the park that have been well-known for having unusual activity, the Wilkinson Trail is the hike that gets the most paranormal attention.

In the fall of 1777, the American defeated the British, leaving behind a significant amount of lingering spirits. Today, those who visit the Saratoga Battlefield and walk amongst the miles and miles of trails that are available today will often speak of unexplainable activity.

The Wilkinson Trail is just over four miles long in the northern area of the battlefield. This specific area of the park, many have claimed to hear the moaning of distressed soldiers as well as gunshots and loud drumming. Stories of a betrayed soldier haunting the battlefield have long been told by locals in the area.

According to many, an American soldier who was a part of the battles of 1777 was betrayed and shot by his own men. The man supposedly appeared to a woman visiting the park and explained to her what had happened to him, quickly disappearing afterwards. Today, some claim to see the man walking around the Saratoga Battlefield in a soldier's uniform.
Those who visit the park often speak of experiencing unexplainable things while they're hiking along the hills.
