A Hidden Beach In New York, Green Lakes State Park Is An Ideal Getaway
New York is packed with natural wonders to enjoy all year long, but often, our state parks really begin to draw crowds. If you want to enjoy nature without fighting traffic and circling for parking, head to one hidden beach in New York, located in Greek Lakes State Park.
If you find yourself hoping to discover a beautiful hidden beach in New York, you'll want to visit the town of Manlius. Tucked away in the small town that's not too far away from Syracuse, you'll find the state park of your dreams.
New York is home to dozens of lakes, but the aptly named Green Lake features beautiful, translucent, green water. In the park, you'll find Green Lake and Round Lake - but the beach is on the shore of the former.
The water remains so clear because they are some of the only lakes on Earth that do not experience "turnover". The 200 foot depth of water doesn't stir up from the bottom, which is quite rare!
In easiest terms, the upper and lower levels of the lakes do not mix. Both lakes are nearly 200-feet deep, making it seriously incredible that you can see so far down into the water.
Even though these lakes are so rare and visually attractive, many of our residents and visitors don't realize this hidden gem is hiding right in plain sight.
