The Awesome Hike That Will Take You To The Most Spectacular Fall Foliage In New York
It’s no secret that New York’s hiking trails are most crowded during our summer months, leading many of us to hold off on taking our favorite hikes until fall rolls around. With the region's fall foliage expected to peak on October 8th, heading to Thacher State Park in the next upcoming month is a perfect day trip to plan out.
But some of the best views in the park are ones that can simply be achieved from the side of the road, with plenty of overlooks beautiful showcasing the Helderberg Escarpment.
And on a nice and clear day, you can even see the Empire State Plaza from the main pull of parking lot in the park that also has coin-operated binoculars that you can use to get a better look at the colors.
With plenty of places to pull off and enjoy the views, you'll also find plenty of picnic tables and gazebos that you can relax at while exploring this marvelous state park.
