One of the greatest things about being able to call New York home is the fact that with a state this large, we have so many different and unique regions. Those who live here or have explored the area know that the Finger Lakes Region is made up of a beautiful combination of rolling green hills, farmland and vineyards that will leave you speechless. Just one of several amazing food towns that you can find out in this region, check out why you’ll want to arrive to Geneva on an empty stomach.
A small town with so much to offer, hungry travelers can find Geneva at the north end of Seneca Lake.
Right in the heart of the Finger Lakes, in Geneva you'll find a lovely farmers market operating from June through October, local farm stands and even a dairy and maple farm in town.
A restaurant that's set within an absolutely jaw-dropping setting, Edgar's Steakhouse is set with the town's breathtaking castle. Belhurst Castle is more than just an unforgettable place to stay for the night, the castle also features six dining rooms that Edgar's Steakhouse caters to. Edgar's serves dinner every day between 5PM and 8:30PM, with a phenomenal brunch menu offered every Saturday and Sunday.
Right on Seneca Street, Halsey's uses fresh ingredients to create a wonderful menu that you'll enjoy time and time again. Dough lovers will rejoice over Halsey's amazing homemade breads and wood fired pizza, alongside other great menu items like their local cheese board full of goods from Lively Run Farm in Interlaken.
An exclusive place to dine, F.L.X Table creates a wonderfully intimate setting with only seating for a total of fourteen guests. Using local ingredients, F.L.X Table offers a set menu every night that changes and is always giving you something new to look forward to. In order to enjoy this one-of-a-kind dining adventure, you'll have to make a reservation online.
Visitors of Geneva who are looking for something other than your ordinary American fare should be sure to head on over to Red Dove Tavern on Castle Street.
Like so many of the restaurants in Geneva, you'll find that the Red Dove Tavern uses local ingredients to help elevate all of their dishes. Closed on Sundays and Mondays, the bar has all sorts of local beers and wines for you to check out and savory dishes that are part of a frequently changing menu.
When you aren't too busy drinking down delicious wine at Ventosa Vineyard, you'll be able to discover that the vineyard actually has its own cafe! At Cafe Toscana you'll find a Mediterranean style menu that changes with the seasons. Popular things to order at Cafe Toscana range from their dreamy pizzas to amazing wraps and paninis.
Serving unforgettable Italian cuisine since 1996, Cosentino’s Ristorante has all of your favorite classic dishes. A family-owned and operated restaurant of Geneva, you'll never leave this Italian spot feeling anything other than satisfied and happily full of food.
Located on Exchange Street, Water Street Cafe is open every day of the week. A nice diner-style restaurant, the cafe is known for having a very friendly staff that will always point you in the right direction when it comes to picking something off their menu. Word of advice? Our favorite time to visit here is for breakfast!
Embodying the Finger Lakes spirit, Ports Cafe features tons of local wine from the region that pair up perfectly with their menu items. On their menu you'll be able to pick from dishes like their calamari, chicken and shrimp as well as tasty appetizers like their quesadillas and nachos.
