The Fall Foliage Train Ride Through New York With Panoramic Views
While all our hearts may be breaking over the fact that it’s now that time of year where we have to say goodbye to summer, there’s always one advantage to this season’s departure and that’s New York’s fall foliage. As we start to trade in long summer nights for shorter fall days, we get to see Mother Nature work her magic and turn our state into some of the most breathtaking and colorful scenery in the country. There may be a variety of ways for you to soak in the sights of our fall colors, but there’s one attraction that’s one of our absolute favorites. Let’s check it out!
Departing out of Albany and taking you all the way to up Canada, Amtrak's Great Dome Car is an attraction you need to experience this year.
As the train takes you through Upstate and into our beautiful Adirondack forest, you'll get a look at our mountains changing colors and jaw-dropping scenery along the way.
As it brings you all the way up to Montreal, Amtrak's breathtaking route will remind you of just how lucky we are to live here and that our fall foliage is the absolute best.
While the exact 2017 dates have yet to be announced, usually the Great Dome Car begins operating at the end of September and all the way through the month of October. To find out more information and to keep your eye out of this year's dates, take a look at Amtrak's Fall Travel Guide here.
