With A Rotating Schedule Of Grandma Chefs, The Entire Country Needs A Restaurant Like This One In New York

Enoteca Maria in New York features dishes cooked by grandmothers from around the world, offering a unique and heartwarming dining experience.

In a world rife with Facebook arguments and constant political disagreements, there's one thing we can agree on: There's nothing like Grandma's cooking! Whether or not your grandmother is still alive and making food for you, you can get some of Granny's/Nanny's/Nana's/Nonna's best dishes right here in New York!

Enoteca Maria actually has two kitchens. One is a traditional restaurant kitchen that provides a fixed menu of various Italian dishes.

The second kitchen is what makes this place really special. It's staffed with a rotating collection of international chefs. But they're not just any chefs: they're grandmothers from around the world, and they specialize in sharing local dishes from their home countries.

The "Nonnas of the World" come from all over the globe. Several are from Italy, but there are also representatives from Prague, Brazil, Japan, Argentina, and even Ecuador.

Jody Scaravella, the restaurant's owner, was inspired to start the business after his grandmother and mother passed away in a short time period.

He grew up loving his grandmother's Italian cooking and felt that starting a restaurant was a good way to cope with his grief while honoring her memory.

No matter when you visit and what's on the menu, the dishes are incredible. And it's no wonder, when you consider that the chefs have hundreds of years of experience between them all!

The dishes are as varied as the chefs themselves.

All the dishes do have a few things in common though; they use local, organic ingredients whenever possible, and they're all delicious.
