One of the many museums in the Rochester area that will leave you completely fascinated, the George Eastman Museum was once the home of yes, George Eastman himself.
Anyone who's ever had the pleasure of exploring this historic mansion can tell you that as soon as you walk through the doors, you'll feel like you've just entered a real-life game of Jumanji!
Once the holiday season arrives in the month of November, the George Eastman Museum turns into a complete Christmas wonderland that people from all around Western New York and beyond come out to enjoy.
Every year, the museum hosts their Sweet Creations Gingerbread Display and contest that’s available to view between November 8 and December 15 - where dozens of gingerbread creations will be on display, many of which are modeled after local landmarks that you’ll recognize even in this tasty form!
Visitors will be able to enjoy self-guided tours of the museum, where they'll get to see a familiar place transformed by magical and twinkling holiday decorations while enjoying cookies and punch.
Featuring multiple elements to this multi-month long string of festivities, you'll see that the mansion has quite the collection of wreaths on display in the Colonnade.
Just when you thought this place couldn't get any more magical, between the moments that you're enjoying the enchanting sounds of the Aeolian pipe organ being played by Joe Blackburn and a performance by the Asbury First Methodist Church bell choir, you'll get the chance to mingle with Santa Claus.
Visitors who bring their own camera to the museum during the holiday season will be able to visit with Santa, as well as take their own photos with him in the stunning, historic living room.
With gingerbread creations and Christmas decorations all set up for the year, now's the time to make your way out to Rochester's George Eastman Museum.
