The actual house itself is a treasure of Elmira, one with a fascinating and wonderful history. The Victorian home was built back in 1894, with the original owners of the store buying the property in 1983. Starting out as a three-room shop, the current owners purchased The Christmas House in 1993 and have continued to run the seasonal business. The property sits on Maple Avenue, a charming street in Elmira that's lined with, you guessed it, beautiful Maple trees.
Another reason we love The Christmas House? It's the regions most photographed mansion! The Painted Lady is made up of sixteen different colors (a paint job that was done back in 1988 by a local artist) and has even been featured in the book America's Painted Ladies by Elizabeth Pomada!

Detailed on their website, you can see the specific seasonal hours that The Christmas House keeps all year long. Currently for the season the store is open during the week from 10AM until 9PM, with Saturday and Sunday's hours being 10AM (or sometimes earlier) to 5PM.
