The month of February may be behind us, but that doesn’t mean New York is letting go of its winter weather anytime soon. As of late, New Yorkers in all regions of our state have been seeing major snow storms and results of harsh winter weather, something that can get quite tiring to deal with. If you need a break from the cold but want to stay in your own backyard, make sure you take a look at this incredible indoor rainforest that’s filled with hundreds of butterflies.
Part of The Strong Museum, the Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden is the only indoor butterfly garden that remains open all year long in Upstate New York.
Filled with hundreds upon hundreds of butterflies, all throughout the year New Yorkers and curious out-of-towners can come and explore a lush tropical rainforest in Rochester.
Filled with both native and tropical butterflies, you'll have the most splendid time playing a game of "I Spy" while trying to spot all of the butterflies that so beautifully blend into the forest.
As you walk through the butterfly garden, you'll want to keep your head on a swivel as butterflies are known to be just about everywhere and will often even land right on you!
One of the many features of this butterfly garden that you won't want to miss is the Chrysalis Case, where you'll get to see various butterflies transforming right before you.
At Dancing Wings, you'll get to enjoy so many different butterfly-infused experiences, from watching them grow to watching them feast on sweet fruit laid out for all of them.
